So, after several months, I finally once again had the desire to work on the website. During the period this site was down, I spent a large amount of time working on another site: http://www.chaingunned.org - also linked on the side menu under Tribes 2. From the start of that website, I began using much more sophisticated PHP that what I had originally been using. This site suffered, because any time that I had the urge to write some PHP, chaingunned.org was first on the agenda. However, with the shutting down of the Tribes 2 master servers, chaingunned.org has become almost unnecessary. As a result, I began moving over the backbone of that website to this website, and recoding everything here to make use of the new backbone. I am finally far enough along in that task to happily announce that TheMellin.com is back and ready for public use and entertainment. The arcade and forum have resumed full operation, and I have plans to add even more interesting content.

Most Everything Is Broken	February 17, 2008	Kryand
As you have probably noticed, almost every feature on the site doesn't work. I know why, but it's going to be really boring and tedious for me to fix. So, I decided not to. Instead, at some point in the future when I feel like it, I'm going to recode the entire website from the ground up using some more intelligent page-building techniques. This will probably take a while, and that's after I actually start. This is basically what I am already doing for the company I work for, so I'm probably not going to want to spend much of my free time doing the exact same thing.                        In other words, the site is going to stay mostly non-functional for a while, and I don't really care. At the very least I might try to get the arcade working prior to starting the 'recode', since that's probably all anyone cares about, but like I said, it will be boring and tedious.

Switch Mostly Complete	February 12, 2008	Kryand
I have most files transferred over as well as the database. There are some code incompatibilities between old host and new host, so it'll take me a few days to get everything working again. I expect by the time the DNS updates, I should have it all finished, so no worries.

Switching Hosts... Again	February 11, 2008	Kryand
I'm changing hosts again, and I am about to export MySQL right after I post this. Again, that means anything you do after I post this message will not be saved. I will post again to let you know when the switch is complete, at which point you will again be able to do stuff. Sit tight.              In other news, happy birthday Sophia!

Music Stuff	May 12, 2007	Kryand
I've been writing some music lately. It's all in midi, but I will eventually be able to have real recordings. I set up a temp site to make available some of the songs. Check them out here.

Almost Back	March 16, 2007	Kryand
All of the features should be working again. If they aren't, then tell me. I can't check every damn facet of the entire website by myself. The only thing I have left is to upload all of the files again for the Files sections. Some uploaded ok, others gave me some error that I'll surmount eventually. I might put up some music again after that.
